Back in the day I was a single parent raising two small kids. This Saturday night my brother agreed to watch my kids after I had tucked them in bed. I agreed to take my neighbor on an errand. My friend her young daughter and myself load into my brown 4 door ford tempo and headed out. I was about 10 miles from my home when it happen. out of know where I was T bone a car ran the red light.To add insult to injury the driver didn't realize he hit my car the reason he was intoxicated. Test results later revealed he also had narcotics in his systems. That night 30 plus years ago changed my life and still affects me to this days. I was given additional information on the driver he was a city worker on his way to work. If only the city would have required employees to be tested for both drug/alcohol this would/could have been avoided. I did sustain broken bones and other injuries know one else was injured thank goodness., however it left life long results bad it could have been worse it is my mission to advocate for drug and alcohol testing for drug free work place.
